Vehicle#1 was traveling eastbound on I-595. Vehice#2 was eastbound on I-595 disabled in the roadway. Vehicle#3 was traveling eastbound on I-595. The driver of Vehicle#1 swerved to avoid Vehicle#2 and struck the left side of Vehicle#3. The impact caused the driver of Vehicle#3 to lose control. Vehicle#3 overturned several times and traveled over the barrier wall and came to rest in the eastbound lanes of State Road 84. Vehicle#1 left the scene and is described as a black Dodge pick up truck with a white male driver. The pick up may have damage to the right front or right side area of the vehicle. Vehicle 1, migrant bus, was backing southbound within the parking lot of the Marathon gas station. Two men were sitting on a bench in front of the station. For reasons yet to be determined, the bus failed to stop and struck both men, pinning one between the station and bus. That person was pronounced deceased on the scene. The driver exited the bus and left the scene. The driver of the bus has been identified as Gaspar De Gaspar from Indiantown, Florida. An arrest warrant for hit-and-run has been issued.

Tyler Delabruere was riding his bicycle southbound on 43rd Avenue was he was struck by a vehicle that fled the scene southbound on 43rd Avenue. The vehicle is described as a 1993-1995 Honda Civic with left front and side damage. The vehicle will be missing the driver side mirror and will have a shattered windshield. The color of vehicle is undetermined however based on evidence collected from the vehicle suggests that the vehicle may have some primer color along with teal or red paint from a previous paint job. The victim sustained serious injuries.

Northbound I-95 South of Palmetto Park Road

UPDATE: Florida Highway Patrol investigators have recovered a black Jeep Cherokee believed to be involved in the hit-and-run crash that struck and killed Arnold Metellus as he stood next to a vehicle on I-95 south of Palmetto Park Road on Sunday October 26, 2014. The vehicle was recovered at a residence in Southwest Ranches in Broward County. The investigation is continuing to determine who was driving.


Vehicle one was traveling northbound on I-95. Vehicle 2 (white Dodge Charger) was disabled on the east shoulder of northbound I-95 with the drivers side door open. Pedestrian 1 (Road Ranger) was standing next to Vehicle 2. Vehicle 1 struck the pedestrian and the left side of vehicle 2. Vehicle 1 continued northbound and exited at Palmetto Park Road. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. The hit-and-run vehicle is described as silver or gray SUV type vehicle. The vehicle should have front and right side damage.

Vehicle one (V01) was traveling northbound on the I-95 in the right center lane. V02 was traveling northbound on I-95 in the right center lane. Driver of V01 failed to observe V02 ahead striking the right rear of V02 with the front left of V01. V02 continued forward striking the barrier wall with it's left front. V02 came to rest facing west in the emergency lane. V01 fled the scene driving an unknown vehicle with front end damage. The driver of V02 was pronounced deceased on scene. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

Vehicle one (V01) was traveling southbound on State Road 441. Pedestrian 1 was walking near the roadway coming from the Taylor Creek Stormwater Treatment area. The vehicle struck the pedestrian and continued southbound, leaving the scene. The pedestrian came to final rest on the west shoulder of US 441. The vehicle will have damage to the front right side turn signal and missing its right side mirror.

Sawgrass Expressway north of Sample Road

The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a hit-and-run crash involving a tractor trailer and a pedestrian that occurred on the Sawgrass Expressway north of Sample Road at 12:40 PM. The pedestrian was involved in a crash with another vehicle and came to rest in the median. The other vehicle was on the right shoulder. The pedestrian attempted to cross the roadway and was struck by the tractor trailer. The tractor trailer left the scene and is described as a white in color tractor with right front damage and was missing the lower mirror. The tractor was pulling a white box trailer and continued eastbound on the Sawgrass Expressway.
