The Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (FLHSMV) manufactured housing section is charged with the inspection of new manufactured homes, monitoring homes on dealer lots and inspecting installation of homes. This section also monitors, inspects and evaluates storm damage to manufactured/mobile homes. Hurricane and tornado damage reports shown below were compiled by the FLHSMV. The assessed mobile home damage was based on a sample of mobile home parks located within the path of hurricanes and tornadoes. These reports are used by the FLHSMV to monitor the effectiveness, construction, and installation of mobile homes based on Florida Statutes and administrative rule.
