April 7, 2021 | V-1 was traveling southbound in the inside lane of SR-597 just south of Hamilton Avenue. V-2 was traveling westbound across the southbound lanes of SR-597. V-2 entered the path of V-1 and, as a result, V-1 collided with V-2 which came to rest in the southbound lanes of SR-597. Following the crash, D-1 fled the scene on foot after parking V-1 in an adjacent parking lot. D-2 suffered fatal injuries at the scene of the crash. D-1 was described as either a Hispanic male or African-American male with a medium build, short dark hair and wearing a red shirt. March 6, 2021 | V-1 was traveling southbound on 66th Street North in the center lane north of 55th Avenue North. V-2 was traveling southbound directly ahead of V-1. V-3 was traveling southbound on the west sidewalk of 66th Street North. V-1 overtook and collided with the rear of V-2. Post-impact, V-1 and V-2 rotated to the roadway shoulder. V-2 then overturned and collided with V-3 before finally impacting traffic signs at the intersection of 55th Avenue North. V-1 came to final rest after colliding with a concrete utility pole and D-1 fled the scene on foot. February 8, 2021 | V-1, an unregistered motorcycle operated by an unlicensed operator, was traveling westbound on the north sidewalk of SR-674 approaching 9th Street SE. V-2, a white Pontiac G6 2-door, was traveling westbound on SR-674. V-1 entered and crossed the roadway, thereby entering the path of V-2. As a result, V-2 collided with the rear of V-1. Upon impact, D-1 was propelled onto the hood, windshield and roof of the vehicle. Post-impact, both vehicles came to final rest in the westbound lanes of SR-674. Following the crash, two black males fled from V-2 on foot and remain at large. December 27, 2020 | A silver in color, 2020 Volkswagen Passat was traveling northbound on Pleasure Drive approaching Darlington Road. The driver of the vehicle failed to stop for the stop sign located at the intersection of Pleasure Drive and Darlington Road. The driver continued traveling north, attempting to make a left turn onto Darlington Road. The driver began traveling off the roadway and onto the north shoulder of Darlington Road. The vehicle began traveling towards a home located at 4115 Darlington Road. As a result, the front of the vehicle struck the east wall of the home located at 4115 Darlington Road and the right rear of the vehicle struck a fence located at 4121 Darlington Road. Two occupants that were in their bedroom inside of the home located at 4115 Darlington Road were struck by the vehicle and several cinder blocks due to the impact. Both occupants that were inside of the home located at 4115 Darlington Road were transported to the hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene of the crash on foot. December 25, 2020 | An unknown vehicle was traveling in the outside northbound lane on U.S. 19 approaching Manor Drive. The pedestrian was walking in the northbound right turn lane of U.S. 19 when the unknown vehicle entered the turn lane. The unknown vehicle collided with the pedestrian, who suffered fatal injuries as a result of the crash. The unknown vehicle fled the scene of the crash and continued northbound on U.S. 19. November 27, 2020 | An unknown vehicle was traveling southbound in the center lane of U.S. 41 approaching the intersection of Southern Hills Boulevard. The bicyclist was traveling eastbound and crossing U.S. 41. As the bicyclist crossed U.S. 41, the unknown vehicle collided with the bicyclist. The bicyclist suffered serious injuries as a result of the crash and was transported to an area hospital. The unknown vehicle fled the scene. November 19, 2020 | The suspect vehicle was traveling southbound on South 50th Street, north of Habersham Road. The driver lost control of the vehicle which traveled across the northbound lanes of 50th Street, departed the roadway and collided with another vehicle which was parked and unoccupied in the owner's front yard. The suspect vehicle then continued and collided with a wooden power pole, a fence, then a second wooden power pole. Following the collisions, a black BMW driven by a female arrived and the suspect driver fled the scene of the crash with the woman in the BMW. October 16, 2020 | The suspect vehicle was traveling westbound on Ulmerton Road in the outside lane approaching 34th Street North. The pedestrian was traveling in a motorized wheelchair northbound across Ulmerton Road in a marked crosswalk on the east side of 34th Street North, violating a red pedestrian do not cross signal. As a result, the pedestrian entered the path of the vehicle resulting in a collision. Post-impact, the pedestrian came to rest within the intersection as the vehicle fled the crash scene. August 19, 2020 | The pedestrian was walking within the southbound travel lanes of Interstate 75 near mile marker 240. The vehicle was traveling southbound on Interstate 75 and collided with the pedestrian. The pedestrian sustained fatal injuries as a result of the crash. The vehicle fled the scene and continued southbound on Interstate 75. September 9, 2020 | A brown in color, 2002 Honda CRV sport utility vehicle was traveling south on U.S. 301 in the center lane. The SUV began to travel in a south easterly direction. The SUV struck a raised, concrete median, which caused the vehicle to go airborne. After that collision, the SUV rotated counter clockwise and continued to travel southeast. The right side wheels of the SUV struck the concrete curb causing V01 to become airborne a second time while overturning on its right side. The right side of V01 then struck a wooden privacy fence. After that collision, the SUV struck a business at the address of 6928 U.S.301 Riverview, FL. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene on foot. The SUV became engulfed in flames. The SUV came to final rest up right, facing northeast and against the business. June 2, 2020 | An unknown vehicle was traveling westbound on County Road 52 ALT (Clinton Avenue) approaching Bur Mac Road. The pedestrian was walking westbound in the westbound lane of travel for County Road 52 ALT (Clinton Avenue) approaching Bur Mac Road. The driver of the unknown vehicle failed to observe the pedestrian in the roadway causing the front of the unknown vehicle to strike the pedestrian. The pedestrian came to final rest, facing south in the westbound lane of travel. The unknown vehicle fled the scene and continued westbound on Clinton Avenue. The suspect vehicle is possibly a side-by-side UTV, with a track width of approximately 53 inches and a bumper height of 24-30 inches. The vehicle is likely to have front left damage. May 31, 2020 | An unknown vehicle was traveling eastbound on State Road 674 in the outside lane, west of 24th Avenue SE. The bicyclist was traveling eastbound in the outside lane ahead of the unknown vehicle. The unknown vehicle overtook and collided with the bicyclist who suffered fatal injuries at the scene of the crash. Following the crash, the unknown vehicle fled the scene. FHP Investigators have located additional evidence identifying the hit and run suspect vehicle in this case as a dark colored pickup truck and are no longer searching for a sedan. May 14, 2020 | A silver in color, 1999 BMW 328i was eastbound on Interstate 4 east of McIntosh Road in the center lane. A 2010 Kawasaki motorcycle was slowing due to traffic ahead eastbound on Interstate 4 in the center lane ahead of the BMW sedan. A 2015 BMW M3 was slowing due to traffic eastbound on Interstate 4 in the center lane ahead of the motorcycle. A 2001 Mitsubishi Galant was eastbound on Interstate 4 in the center lane behind the 1999 BMW sedan. The driver of the 1999 BMW sedan failed to stop and the front of the vehicle collided with the rear of the motorcycle. After initial impact, the driver of the motorcycle became unseated from the bike onto the roadway and the motorcycle was pushed forward into the rear of the 2015 BWW sedan. May 13, 2020 | An unknown motorcycle was traveling westbound on State Road 694 (Gandy Blvd.), west of San Martin Blvd. The pedestrian was running south, across westbound State Road 694 from the parking lot located at 10601 Gandy Blvd. The right side of the unknown motorcycle collided with the pedestrian. The unknown motorcycle fled the scene. A black and white right fairing from a motorcycle was located just west of the area of collision, on the right shoulder of westbound State Road 694. A search of the part located appears to come back to a 2006-2007 Kawasaki ZX10R lower right fairing. Attached is the “crash debris” photo depicting evidence Troopers recovered at the crash scene. Also, attached is a comparison photo of the vehicle parts recovered and a likeness of the vehicle being sought. May 5, 2020 | An unknown vehicle was traveling south in the outside lane of Interstate 275 (State Road 93) approximately a quarter mile north of Bears Avenue. A 2016, Ford F-150 pickup was stopped in the outside lane of ahead of the unknown vehicle in the same direction. The Ford pickup truck’s emergency lights were fully activated while working in off-duty status performing moving roadwork along the interstate. The other construction vehicles amber lights and directional board were activated indicating to move over and reduce speed. However, the unknown vehicle failed to move over for vehicles ahead. The front of the unknown vehicle collided with the rear of the Ford pickup. The unknown vehicle fled the scene. The unknown vehicle was described as a white pickup truck with an American flag decal on the rear window. The unknown vehicle remains unidentified. May 4, 2020 | An unknown vehicle was traveling southbound on State Road 597 (Dale Mabry Highway), north of West Broad Street, in the outside lane, directly behind a 2014, Toyota Camry. The Toyota sedan was slowing southbound on Dale Mabry Highway, north of West Broad Street, in the outside lane, directly in front of the unknown vehicle. A 2007, Chevrolet Silverado was stopped eastbound on East Broad Street, west of Dale Mabry Highway. The Toyota sedan was attempting a right turn onto West Broad Street. While doing so, the unknown vehicle failed to stop for the Toyota sedan. As a result, the front of the unknown vehicle struck the rear of the Toyota sedan. This impact redirected the Toyota sedan southwest in a counter clockwise rotation. As a result, the rear of the Toyota sedan struck the left side of the Chevrolet pickup. After impact, the unknown vehicle fled the scene. The unknown vehicle is described to be a maroon in color, sport utility vehicle. The unknown vehicle remains unidentified. Hillsborough County 4:07 A.M. State Road 674 & Katie Stanaland Road FHPC20OFF033216 | An unknown vehicle was traveling eastbound on State Road 674, east of Katie Stanaland Road. A pedestrian was located in the eastbound lane of State Road 674. It was determined that the pedestrian was lying in the roadway at the time of the crash. V01 struck the pedestrian. The unknown vehicle fled the scene. The unknown vehicle is believed to be a commercial vehicle. June 2, 2019 | Vehicle-1 (Black Cadillac) was southbound on Keysville Avenue approaching the intersection of Northcliffe Boulevard. Vehicle-2 (2015 Honda Civic) was eastbound the outside lane of Northcliffe Boulevard approaching the intersection of Keysville Avenue. Vehicle-3 (2010 Nissan Titan) was parked facing westbound in the driveway of 4761 Keysville Avenue. The driver of V01 failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection of Keysville Avenue and Northcliffe Boulevard and failed to maintain control of their vehicle. V01 continued traveling in a southwesterly direction crossing the westbound lanes of Northcliffe Boulevard. V01 then entered the center median of Northcliffe Boulevard before crossing into the eastbound lanes of Northcliffe Boulevard. The front of V01 then struck the front right corner of V02. After the collision, V02 traveled approximately 10 feet east of the area of collision and came to final rest in the outside lane of Northcliffe Boulevard, facing southeast. After striking V02, V01 continued traveling in a southwesterly direction and onto the south shoulder of Northcliffe Boulevard. The front of V01 then struck a "Do Not Block Intersection" road sign. After striking the sign, V01 then entered the yard of 4761 Keysville Avenue. V01 continued in a southwesterly direction around a tree and then started to travel eastbound through the yard of 4761 Keysville Avenue. The front right corner of V01 then struck a light pole in the yard. The front left corner of V01 then struck the right rear corner of V03. After striking V03, V01 fled the scene and continued traveling southbound on Keysville Avenue. February 7, 2019 | On February 7, 2019, at 8:00 AM, FHP investigated a hit-and-run crash on Moon Lake Road at Banbury Avenue. The suspect vehicle, described as a white, 10-year-old, flat bed truck with traffic cones on the rear flatbed portion of the truck and driven by a Hispanic male collided with a 2018 Hyundai Santa Fe and a 2005 GMC Yukon SUV after running a red light. The crash caused injuries to both of the victims. Following the crash, the suspect driver fled the scene northbound on Moon Lake Road. December 4, 2018 | On December 4, 2018 at 6:15 PM, pedestrian #1 was walking southbound across Flora ave, east of Brightwell drive in Holiday, Florida and traveled into the path of vehicle #1. As a result, vehicle #1 collided with pedestrian #1. Following the collision, Vehicle #1 fled the scene. Transported to an area hospital, pedestrian #1 later expired from injuries sustained during the crash. November 30, 2018 | On November 30, 2018, at 6:39 AM, in Hernando County, Vehicle 1 (V01) was westbound, in the right turn lane, on County Line Road, approaching a steady red traffic signal at the intersection of U.S. Highway 19. Vehicle 2 (V02) was westbound, in the right turn lane, on County Line Road, approaching a steady red traffic signal at the intersection of U.S. Highway 19, directly ahead of V01. Vehicle 3 (V03) was westbound, in the right turn lane, on County Line Road, approaching a steady red traffic signal at the intersection of U.S. Highway 19, directly ahead of V02. V02 and V03 slowed and stopped for traffic ahead. V01 failed to stop for traffic ahead at which time the front of V01 collided with the rear of V02. As a result of the collision between V01 and V02, V02 was propelled into the rear of V03. V01 then drove around V02 and V03 at which time the right side of V01 collided with the left side of V02. V01 then fled the scene northbound on U.S. Highway 19, failing to stop and provide the necessary information pertaining to the collision. V02 and V03 pulled to a private parking lot on the northeast corner of the intersection and waited for law enforcement. October 5, 2018 | On October 5, 2018, at 2:44 PM, in Polk County, Vehicle 1 (Hyundai Accent) was traveling south on US-Highway 98 in the left turn lane to turn into the Publix parking lot. Vehicle 2 (Yamaha motorcycle) was traveling north in the inside lane on US-Highway 98. V-1 attempted to go into the Publix parking lot traveling across the northbound lanes. V-1 ultimately got in the travel path of V-2, which subsequently caused the front of V-2 to strike the rear passenger side of V-1. V-1 departed the scene of the accident, was last seen traveling north in the Publix parking lot, and was later located, but the driver never identified. FHPC18OFF109098 |
September 29, 2018 | On September 29, 2018, at 11:03 PM in Pasco County, Vehicle 1 was traveling westbound in the left turn lane on State Road 54, approaching Oak Grove Boulevard. Vehicle 2 was traveling eastbound in the center lane on State Road 54, approaching Oak Grove Boulevard. Driver 1 failed to observe Vehicle 2 while turning left and the front of Vehicle 2 struck the right side of Vehicle 1. Vehicle 1 then fled the scene heading southbound on Oak Grove Boulevard. Vehicle 1 was described as a dark grey Toyota sedan. Driver 1 was described as a possible white female with blonde hair. FHPC18OFF106977 |
June 12, 2018 | On June 12, 2018, in Pasco County, Vehicle 1 was traveling eastbound on Alico Pass. Vehicle 2 was traveling southbound on Starkey Boulevard. At the intersection, Vehicle 1 turned left into the path of Vehicle 2. As a result, the front of Vehicle 2 collided with the left rear portion of Vehicle 1. Vehicle 1 then partially rotated counter-clockwise, struck construction barrels in the center of the roadway and fled the scene northbound on Starkey Boulevard. The collision, captured on home security cameras from a nearby residence, depicts the above incident crash and identifies Vehicle 1 as a Ford pickup truck, most likely a F350. May 3, 2018 | On May 3, 2018, at 9:11 AM, in Polk County, Vehicle 1 (white Chevy pickup) was traveling westbound on State Road 400 (Interstate 4) near the 31 mile marker. V-1 entered the outside emergency lane and struck a pedestrian. After being struck by V-1, the pedestrian was projected onto the grassy outside shoulder with fatal injuries. V-1 and its driver left the scene of the crash. Fresh fragments of a right headlight assembly, some with stamped General Motors part numbers, were discovered near the area of collision. Fresh white paint chips were also found near the area of collision. On May 14, 2018, the suspect vehicle was located off of a Crime Stoppers Tip. November 19, 2017 | On November 19, 2017, V-1 was traveling eastbound on SR-54, west of Pensdale Drive in the inside lane. P-1 attempted to walk across SR-54, traveled into the path of V-1 and was subsequently struck by the vehicle which then fled the scene. Update: On December 2, 2017, P-1 expired from injuries sustained during the November 19th traffic crash. FHP investigators are currently searching for a white sedan last seen traveling eastbound from the crash scene; the suspect vehicle may also have been driving erratically prior to the crash in the area of the Thunder Tavern. |
October 20, 2017 | Vehicle 1 (V01)[Ford 150] was traveling westbound on Bolton Avenue, approaching US-19 (State Road 55). NM01 was traveling westbound in the westbound lane, approaching US-19 (State Road 55), in the direct path of V01. NM01 failed to observe V01 occupying the road way, at which time, the front of V01 struck NM01. The collision from V01 caused NM01 to come to final rest approximately 15 feet west from area of collision. V01 fled from the scene of the accident. October 13, 2017 | On October 13, 2017, vehicle-1, an unknown low-profile recreation type vehicle, was traveling westbound on west southern street, west of south Fairlane terrace. Pedestrian-1 was walking along the outer roadway edge, eastbound in the westbound lane along west southern street. The right front of v-1 struck pedestrian-1, then left the scene of the crash. Airlifted to an area hospital, pedestrian-1 later expired from her injuries. Update: FHP continues to search for an ATV type vehicle involved with this October 13, 2017 traffic crash. July 8, 2017 | NM-01 was last seen at a bar in Dade City located approximately (2) miles north of crash scene. NM-01 departed the bar at sometime after 12:00a, but before 2:00am and began to walk south, possibly to his current place of residence. When NM-01 was southbound on U.S. Highway 301, north of Globe Road he was struck by an unknown vehicle or object attached to a vehicle. NM-01 was transported from the scene to Lakeland Regional Medical Center and was pronounced deceased on the 11th of July. May 31, 2017 @ 5:30 AM | V-1 was traveling westbound on Ulmerton road. V-3, a bicyclist with lights on the bicycle and wearing a reflective vest, was traveling westbound on Ulmerton road in the bike lane east of 58th street north. For unknown reasons. V-1 collided with v-3 and left the scene. V-3 and d-3 came to rest in the roadway and were subsequently struck by v-2 also traveling westbound on Ulmerton road. D-3 expired at the scene of the crash. *****Update***** FHP troopers continue to investigate the May 31 fatal hit-and-run crash; investigators have widened the suspect vehicle search to any vehicle with front end damage. March 26, 2016 | Vehicle 1 was traveling northbound on State Road 597 (Dale Mabry Highway) in the inside travel lane approaching Medical Drive. Pedestrian 1 was traveling westbound across the northbound lanes of travel on State Road 597. Pedestrian 1 entered the inside travel lane ahead of Vehicle 1; as a result, the front of Vehicle 1 struck the pedestrian. January 29, 2016 | Vehicle 01 (V01) was traveling northbound on US 98 (State Road 700), approaching the intersection of Segnaro Lane. Driver 01 (D01) attempted to pass the vehicle in front of her when she noticed V02 approaching rapidly traveling southbound. At that point, D01 swerved off the roadway, losing control of V01 and subsequently overturning and coming to final rest facing northeast on the grassy median. D01 and her passenger then got out of the vehicle and approached a vehicle, who is also the witness and jumped in his car and requested of him to leave the scene. The passenger, who the witness described as being a black female, heavy set, with zigzag spandex pants and black pony tail hair, borrowed the witnesses' phone and called her mother. D01 was described as being a heavy set woman with blue eyes and blonde pony tail hair, wearing blue jean pants and a white t-shirt with laceration down her right arm. When both the driver and passenger realized the witness was not leaving, they exited the vehicle and immediately traveled eastbound on Segnaro Lane. V01 was confirmed a stolen vehicle out of Georgia. March 26, 2015 | Vehicle 1 was traveling northbound on US-19 in the inside lane approaching the intersection of SR-52. Vehicle 2 was stopped, facing south in the outside left turn lane of US-19 north of SR-52 due to the traffic signal being red. For unknown reason(s), Vehicle 1 traveled through the intersection and into the southbound lanes of US-19 and collided with Vehicle 2 head-on. Postimpact, the victim exited his vehicle to make contact with the suspect at which time the suspect advised he did not want Law Enforcement involved. When the victim advised the suspect that Law Enforcement had been contacted, the suspect put Vehicle 1 in reverse and left the scene and was last seen traveling north on US-19 in the northbound lanes. A witness and Good Samaritan began to follow the suspect vehicle in hopes of obtaining a license plate number. The witness advised the suspect vehicle suddenly stopped on the outside shoulder of US-19 south of Hudson Avenue and exited his vehicle. When the witness exited his vehicle he observed the suspect to have a semi-auto pistol in his hand, bladed down his leg. The witness, possessing a concealed firearms permit, drew his own weapon at the suspect and warned him to back off. The suspect ran back to his vehicle and drove off and the witness was unable to obtain a full license plate number for Vehicle 1. The suspect vehicle is described as a large box/straight truck, mostly blue in color. The victim and witness described the truck to be a moving truck, possibly with the word “Moving” on the side of the truck. The truck will have noticeable damage to the front end. The suspect is described to be a white or Hispanic male, 5’8” to 5’10” in height, aged 30 to 40 years. The suspect was last seen wearing a white shirt, blue jeans, and a baseball style cap. The suspect appeared to be under the influence of an alcohol beverage and/or chemical or controlled substance. March 10, 2015 | Vehicle-1 was traveling southbound on us-301 north of Balm Riverview road in the left turn lane. Vehicle-2 was traveling northbound on US-301 in the outside lane. V-1 turned left into the path of v-2. As a result, the front of v-2 struck the passenger side of v-1. Post-impact, v-1 departed the roadway and struck a traffic sign on the south shoulder of the roadway. Driver-2 was ejected from the motorcycle and V-2 came to final rest in the roadway. March 3, 2015 | Vehicle-1 was traveling southbound on seminole boulevard south of caribbean way. Pedestrian-1 was walking and/or standing in the roadway and in the path of V-1 for unknown reasons. V-1 struck P-1 who sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene of the crash. V-1 fled the scene of the crash. Currently no information is available regarding V-1 or Driver-1. February 28, 2015 | Vehicle-1 was traveling southbound in the inside center lane of US-19, north of Republic Drive. Vehicle-2 was traveling southbound on US-19, slowing in the inside center lane for a yellow traffic signal at the intersection of US-19 and Republic Drive. Vehicle 1 failed to stop and struck the rear of V-2; post-impact, V-2 was propelled through the intersection and came to final rest south of Republic Drive. V-1 continued southbound until stopping along the exit ramp to SR-580 from US-19. Driver 1, described as a 30-40 year old Hispanic Male, 5'11' and 170 pounds, exited V-1 and fled on foot. January 21, 2015 | Based upon the preliminary information at the time of this release, the following circumstances are believed to have led to this incident which remains under investigation: A vehicle traveling eastbound on Fox Chase Blvd. stopped at the stop sign for U.S. 19 when another vehicle also traveling eastbound rear-ended the first vehicle. The driver of the second vehicle then fled on foot from the scene. The second vehicle had been reported stolen by the Tampa Police Department. January 13, 2015 | Vehicle 1 was traveling eastbound on SR 60 in the left turn lane west of Horton Road. Vehicle 2 was traveling westbound on SR 60 in the inside lane east of Horton Road. Vehicle 1 turned left into the path of Vehicle 2; as a result, the front of Vehicle 2 collided with the right side of Vehicle 1. Vehicle 1 came to final rest on the outside shoulder facing north. Vehicle 2 came to final rest facing northwest. UPDATE: On January 17, 2015, ALMEIDO PEREZ, the right front passenger died from injuries sustained during the January 13th traffic crash. SAMUEL DIAZ PEREZ, initially identified as the driver in this case, was later determined to be a rear passenger. December 6, 2014 | Based upon the preliminary information at the time of this release, the following circumstances are believed to have led to this incident which remains under investigation: V-1 was traveling southbound on Interstate 275 approaching the exit for Fowler Avenue in the center lane at a high rate of speed. V-2 was traveling southbound on Interstate 275 in the center lane at the Fowler Avenue. V-1 failed to slow and collided with the rear of V-2. Postimpact, V-2 rotated clockwise, traveled off the roadway and collided with the west guardrail. Deflecting off the guardrail, V-2 continued to rotate and came to final rest in the inside left lane of I-275. V-1 came to final rest in the center lane of I-275. Following the crash, both the driver and passenger of V-1 fled the scene on foot. A vehicle was traveling southbound in the inside lane. The right front of the vehicle collided with the pedestrian. The vehicle continued traveling south on US Hwy 19 without stopping, rendering aid or contacting law enforcement. September 26, 2014 | Based upon the preliminary information at the time of this release, the following circumstances are believed to have led to this incident which remains under investigation: On September 26th at 2:43 am, HCSO and FHP responded to a pedestrian hit-and-run crash eastbound on SR-618 just east of 50th Street. Rick Burgos entered the eastbound lanes of SR-618 and was struck by an unknown vehicle traveling eastbound on SR-618. Burgos was located with serious injuries and transported to Tampa General Hospital for medical care where he remains in stable condition. No traffic video exists and no further information is available regarding the hit-and-run driver or vehicle. September 21, 2014 | Based upon the preliminary information at the time of this release, the following circumstances are believed to have led to this incident which remains under investigation: On September 21st at 8:32 AM, V-1 was traveling northbound on County Road 581 (Bellamy Brothers Blvd). V-2, a bicyclist, was traveling northbound on CR-581. For reasons unknown, D-1 failed to observe V-2. As a result, the front of V-1 collided with V-2. Post-impact, V-2 and D-2 were propelled to final rest on the northbound shoulder of CR-581. D-1 failed to stop and render aid. V-1 was described as a red or burgundy colored mid-sized SUV and may have front-end damage due to the collision. Update: Troopers have recovered a red 2010 Jeep Liberty believed to be involved in the collision that injured Julio Vivo. Troopers continue to work to identify the hit-and-run driver and again are seeking information from the public. May 10, 2014 | Based upon the preliminary information at the time of this release, the following circumstances are believed to have led to this incident which remains under investigation: On May 10th at 8:50 PM, Vehicle 1 was traveling northbound on Landover Boulevard, north of Thornberry Drive, approaching two pedestrians walking along the road edge on the east grass shoulder. David Matthew Smith, 44, of Spring Hill was walking adjacent to the roadway. Dannielle Nicole Gibbons, 25, also of Spring Hill, was walking next to Smith. Vehicle 1 partially left the roadway, traveled onto the east shoulder and collided with Smith. Smith sustained serious injuries and was transported to Oak Hill Hospital, then later transferred to Bayonet Point. Vehicle 1 could only be described as a dark-colored, late model car with suspected heavy front right end and headlight damage. April 15, 2014 | On April 15th at 1:41 a.m., a vehicle was traveling northbound on US-301. A pedestrian, for unknown reasons, was laying in the northbound lane of US-301 just south of Stanford Road. As a result, the front of the vehicle struck the pedestrian who sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene of the crash. The vehicle failed to stop and continued northbound on US-301. Car parts found at the scene of the crash are consistent with a white Chrysler PT cruiser, 2006-2009 model year. The vehicle would have sustained damage to the lower front bumper cover and would be missing part of the inner wheel liner on one of the wheels. November 15, 2013 | Vehicle 1 was traveling west on Trouble Creek Road approaching Iris Dr. behind Vehicle 2. Vehicle 2 was stopped in traffic facing west on Trouble Creek Road at the Intersection of Iris Dr. behind Vehicle 3. Vehicle 3 was stopped in traffic facing west on Trouble Creek Road at the Intersection of Iris Dr. ahead of Vehicle 2. For unknown reasons, the driver of Vehicle 1 failed to observe the stopped traffic ahead of his vehicle. The front of Vehicle 1 collided with the rear of Vehicle 2. This collision forced Vehicle 2 forward, resulting in the front of Vehicle 2 striking the rear of Vehicle 3. After the collision, Vehicle 1 left the scene of the crash. Upon the arrival of the trooper vehicles 2 and 3 had been removed from the roadway. A license plate of 152VJA was provided for Vehicle 1. October 25, 2013 | Based upon the preliminary information at the time of this release, the following circumstances are believed to have led to this incident which remains under investigation: On October 25th at 4:04 PM, Vehicle 1 was traveling northbound on US Hwy 19 approaching Avery Road. Vehicle 2, a 13 year old bicyclist, was traversing US Hwy 19. Vehicle 1 collided with the bicyclist who sustained serious injuries and was transported to St. Joseph's All Childrens Hospital. Post-impact, Vehicle 1 fled the scene of the crash and was last seen completing a U-turn and traveling southbound on US Hwy 19. Vehicle 1 was described as a red late-model Toyota Camry with front end collision damage and driven by an unknown driver. Brena Carter, 13, of New Port Richey was last listed in serious, but stable condition at the hospital. Update: Through further investigation it has been determined that Vehicle 1 was traveling west and exiting a driveway onto US Hwy 19. Vehicle 1 collided with Brena Carter who was riding her bicycle along the sidewalk. Post-impact, Vehicle 1 fled the scene without stopping southbound on US Hwy 19. August 4, 2013 | Vehicle 1, described possibly as a blue sport utility vehicle of unknown make or model, was stopped facing south in the Zephyrhills Plaza Parking Lot located at SR-54 and Coats Road. Pedestrian 1 was traversing the parking lot and approached Vehicle 1 when the vehicle began to travel southbound in the parking lot. Vehicle 1 struck Pedestrian 1 who sustained fatal injuries and expired at the scene of the crash. Driver 1 failed to remain at the scene of the crash. To date, investigators with the FHP have tracked several leads in the case without success. July 13, 2013 | Based upon the preliminary information at the time of this release, the following circumstances are believed to have led to this incident which remains under investigation: Vehicle 1, described as a blue pickup truck, was traveling eastbound on Interstate 4 in the left lane approaching Interstate 75. Vehicle 2, a motorcycle, was traveling eastbound on Interstate 4 in the center lane approaching Interstate 75. Vehicle 1 changed lanes and moved into the path of Vehicle 2. During the lane change, the rear of Vehicle 1 collided with the front tire of Vehicle 2. Driver 2 lost control of the motorcycle which overturned and was ejected onto the roadway. Post-crash, Vehicle 2 caught fire and as a result the left and center lanes of Interstate 4 were closed for one hour. Driver 1 failed to stop at the scene of the crash and was last seen traveling eastbound on I-4. June 6, 2013 | Based upon the preliminary information at the time of this release, the following circumstances are believed to have led to this incident which remains under investigation: On the wet, rainy evening of June 6, 2013, Vehicle 1 was traveling east on SR-52 in a left turn lane approaching Choctaw Trail. Vehicle 2 was traveling west on SR-52 in the inside lane approaching Choctaw Trail. Vehicle 1 turned left (north) onto Choctaw Trail directly into the path of Vehicle 2. As a result, the front of Vehicle 1 collided with the left side of Vehicle 2. The impact caused Vehicle 2 to rotate in a counter clockwise direction and come to final rest facing south in the outside and center lanes of westbound SR-52. Vehicle 1 was last seen traveling north on Choctaw Trail as the driver failed to stop for the collision. Vehicle 1 is described as an older Ford pickup truck, dark in color, and possibly a F150/250 model. Several vehicle parts were collected at the scene from Vehicle 1 which appeared to be after-market front grill, fog lamp assemblies, and the right turn signal assembly. June 6, 2013 | Based upon the preliminary information at the time of this release, the following circumstances are believed to have led to this incident which remains under investigation: Vehicle 1, a red pickup truck (unknown make / model), was traveling southbound on SR-580 in the inside lane, south of Waters Avenue. Pedestrian 1 was walking southeast, across the southbound lanes of SR-580. Pedestrian 1 entered the inside lane and walked into the path of Vehicle 1. As a result, the front of Vehicle 1 struck Pedestrian 1. Post-impact, Pedestrian 1 came to rest in the inside lane of SR-580. Driver 1 failed to stop and render aid as required by Florida law; rather the Driver fled the area traveling south on SR-580. Pedestrian 1 was transported to St. Joseph's Hospital with critical injuries. November 4, 2012 | Based upon the preliminary information at the time of this release, the following circumstances are believed to have led to this incident which remains under investigation: In the early morning hours of November 4, 2012, Vehicle 1 was traveling northbound on US Hwy 301. Vehicle 2 was traveling southbound on US Hwy 301. The roadway was dark and heavy fog was present which reduced visibility significantly. As the two vehicles passed each other, Vehicle 1 departed its lane and traveled partially into the southbound lane where the left front side of Vehicle 1 struck the left rear side of Vehicle 2. Post-impact, Alexander Klim, 20, of Brandon, Florida lost control of Vehicle 2 which traveled from the southbound lane, across the northbound lane and onto the grass shoulder. Once on the shoulder Vehicle 2 collided with a fence and subsequently struck a tree. Vehicle 1 failed to stop and left the scene of the crash. Miguel Colon, 22, of Brandon, who was a passenger in Vehicle 2, sustained critical injuries and later expired at Tampa General Hospital on November 10, 2012. To date, no information exists concerning Vehicle 1 or Driver 1. December 28, 2001 | On December 28, 2001, at 3:15 am, Vehicle 2, a road ranger service truck, was parked facing northbound on I-275 in the outside lane south of lois avenue. At the time, vehicle 2 had its emergency lights and directional board activated and was blocking the outside lane due to a crash just north of its location. The road ranger, Justin Thomas Willis, had exited vehicle 2 and was deploying traffic cones to protect the crash scene. Vehicle 1 was traveling northbound on I-275 in the outside lane and collided with Willis. Post-impact, vehicle 1 continued northbound on I-275 and was last seen exiting at lois avenue. Willis was transported to Tampa General Hospital where he later died from his injuries on December 31, 2001. At the time of the 2001 crash, vehicle 1 was described as a red or maroon Nissan pickup truck with damage to the front passenger side of the vehicle including a flat front right tire. FHP investigators are again asking for the public's assistance with any information regarding this fatal crash.
