Vehicle was traveling in an unknown direction on County Road 337. For unknown reasons a 26-year-old white male was lying in the center of the roadway. Vehicle 1 struck the pedestrian and fled the scene. Currently it is unknown the make, model or color of Vehicle 1.

US Hwy 41

Vehicle was traveling north on US Hwy 41. For unknown reasons a 45-year-old white male was lying on the roadway, after leaving the Club Rodeo Bar. Vehicle 1 struck the pedestrian then slowed momentarily then fled the scene. Vehicle 1 is a sedan, however the exact make and color is unknown.

Northbound I-75 near CR 329

This crash occurred on July 30, 2017 at 4:00 a.m. when a motorcyclist (Jason Kelchner) was lying in the northbound lanes of I-75 after crashing his motorcycle in the rain near the CR 329 Bridge. An unknown color/make passenger car struck the motorcyclist and may have stopped in the median north of the scene. The driver of that vehicle subsequently left the scene without reporting the crash to law enforcement. There may have been damage to the bottom of the front bumper cover (rock shield) of the passenger car.

Spring Rd & Spring Loop Circle

This crash occurred on July 14, 2017 at 5:50 a.m. For unknown reasons a black female (Patricia Terry) was lying in the roadway of Spring Road at the intersection of Spring Loop Circle. An unknown dark colored full size pickup truck drove over the female and continued eastbound on Spring Road. The pickup truck chassis may have been raised up and the vehicle may have had tinted windows. There likely was no visible body damage to the pickup.

US 41 near SW 54th Street

This crash occurred on September 27, 2017 at 5:49 a.m. A white male pedestrian (Joshua James Stahl) was walking in the southbound lane of US 41 near SW 54th Street which is north of the City of Dunnellon. An unknown southbound vehicle collided with the pedestrian and subsequently fled the scene. Two other southbound vehicles then drove over the pedestrian as he lay in the southbound lane. The hit and run vehicle may have had a higher profile… possibly an SUV.

51st Drive in the area of 14880

Florida Highway Patrol Investigators in cooperation with the Suwannee County Sheriff's Office and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement Crime Scene Analysts are releasing that they have determined the probable cause of death of the young woman found dead on 51st Drive in Suwannee County early Sunday morning. According to their ongoing investigation, 27-year-old Brittany Nicole Slaughter was struck by a vehicle that fled from the scene. Autopsy results and follow-up investigation indicate that Slaughter sustained multiple blunt force and internal type injuries that are consistent with being stuck by a vehicle. FHP investigators are attempting to recover physical evidence and background information leading up to the time of this incident and develop further leads to positively identify the involved vehicle and driver.

SE 141st Ave. Rd.

Based on Preliminary information available at the time of this release, the following circumstances are believed to have led to this incident: On May 16th, 2015 at approximately 2:20 AM an eye witness reported hearing a loud noise. The witness stated that upon hearing the loud noise she proceeded toward the area where the noise originated, at this time she told investigators that she observed what appeared to be a white or light colored full size pickup truck speeding away from the area and sparks were visible underneath the vehicle. The witness further stated that after losing sight of the vehicle she looked to her left and observed a male subject lying on the ground. She recognized the subject as one of her friends and neighbor. Preliminary information at the scene revealed that the male subject was walking alongside SE 141st AVE RD when he was struck by the unknown pickup truck that was observed leaving the area. The witness contacted 911 and immediately began CPR on the subject. The victim was transported to The Villages Hospital where he was pronounced deceased shortly after arrival. No other information was obtained about the unknown pickup truck that fled the scene; we ask that anyone with information contact Corporal Shaun Lattinville with FHP at 352-512-6630.

SR-51 at CR-250

Vehicle 1 was northbound on SR-51, approaching the intersection of CR-250. Vehicle 2 was southbound on SR-51, approaching the intersection of CR-250. V-1 turned in front of V-2. The front of V-2 struck the right side of V-1.V-1 rotated clockwise and came to final rest on the west shoulder of SR-51. V-2 continued south while starting to rotate clockwise and came to final rest on the west shoulder of SR-51. The driver of V-1 fled the scene on foot. K-9 units from Suwannee and Hamilton Correctional assisted in the search for V-1's driver. The driver has not been located and there is no further information regarding the identity at this time. The unidentified passenger was transported from the scene of this crash by medical helicopter to UF Health. A passenger in V-2 was pronounced deceased at Shands Live Oak. This investigation is still open pending the traffic homicide investigation.

NE Jacksonville Road / County Road 329

The Florida Highway Patrol is seeking the public's assistance in locating a driver that fled the scene of a fatal crash. Vehicle One (2014 Maroon Nissan Maxima) was traveling northbound on NE Jacksonville Road. Vehicle Two (2010 BASH Scooter) was also traveling northbound on NE Jacksonville Road in front of V-1. According to a witness V-1 appeared to be traveling at a high rate of speed moments prior to this crash. As both vehicles approached the intersection of County Road 329 V-1 struck V-2's rear with V-1's front. The driver of V-2 was ejected from the vehicle. V-1 was re-directed onto the east shoulder, striking a fence and overturning onto it's top. The driver exited the Nissan and fled the scene. The scooter became engufled in flames and burned. The driver of V-2 was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Westbound U.S. 90

FHP Troop B, Suwannee County is looking for a vehicle that fled from a fatal crash involving a motorcycle. Little information is known at this time. The vehicle should have rear end damage, green or gray passenger vehicle. Last seen traveling westbound on U.S. 90 around 6 p.m.
