Hurricane Irma was a powerful and catastrophic storm; the strongest observed in the Atlantic since Hurricane Wilma in 2005. The Hurricane Irma DHSMV Response publication captures the amazing work of DHSMV members who responded before, during and after the storm, selflessly putting their needs aside to serve all Floridians and travelers on the roadways during the largest ordered evacuation in American history, to date.

The Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles annually calls for submissions from students’ grades 6-8 for its Middle School Poster Contest! The contest is held at the beginning of the school year focused on a specific safety issue.

Stuff the Charger

Florida’s families are the focus as the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles and the Florida Highway Patrol kicks off the “Stuff the Charger” Thanksgiving food drive. In partnership with food banks across the State of Florida, FHP is collecting food donations for Florida’s families from October 26 through November 16.
