United States Citizen or Immigrant: U.S. citizens and immigrants whose citizenship status is on their driver record may apply for a replacement license on line or at their local driver license office. To replace an ID card, apply on line or in person at a Florida driver license office.

The fastest way to get a replacement license or ID card is to go to your local driver license office and apply for a replacement. You must present proof of identification and proof of residence documents and pay the replacement fee. The fee will be waived for a stolen license or identification card if a police report has been filed. Please have a copy of the report with you when applying for the replacement.

If you are temporarily out-of-state and hold a non commercial driver license and you want a replacement license to be mailed to you there, you may order on line or by mail. You must also request an address change to your out-of-state address. When you return to Florida you should change the address back to your Florida address.

You can apply for a replacement identification card on-line or in person at a driver license office.

If you are temporarily out-of-state, and want to wait until you return to Florida to get a replacement driver license, then you can receive a 90-day temporary permit. To request a permit, please write to:

Requests can also be processed by calling (850) 617-2000 or by e-mail. Please provide your full name, date of birth, social security number, Florida driver license number and an out-of-state address. There is no fee for the permit. When you return to Florida you can be issued a replacement driver license at the driver license office.

Non-Immigrant: All must go to a local driver license office and apply for a replacement. The fee is $25 and you must present proof of legal presence. The fee will be waived for a stolen license if a police report has been filed. Please have a copy of the report with you when applying for the replacement license.
