Troop “G” FHP’s TOP TROOP Recognized
On Friday, June 22, 2001, Troop G received unprecedented accolades from Buckle Up Florida and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). Troop G was voted the “top troop in Florida” in this 1st of it’s kind competition among FHP troops. The basis of the judging was training, public information, DUI enforcement, speed enforcement, seatbelt enforcement, innovation, and overall effectiveness.

The troop received an acrylic statue and each member of the troop will receive an embroidered golf shirt with a specially designed logo that signifies winning the “troop challenge.” According to representatives of NHTSA who scored the submissions, Troop G’s effort was “extraordinary and impressive”.
The Troop G submission was of such quality, it was selected to serve as the FHP submission to the IACP award that compares all state police and highway patrol agencies. The FHP won the National Award for Top State Police/Highway Patrol for 2000, the “Chiefs Challenge”.
