Trooper Named Florida’s Top Traffic Cop
On July 22, 2011, the Florida Law Enforcement Liaison Program of the Florida Department of Transportation named Trooper Mark Castleberry their law enforcement officer of the year for 2010. Castleberry was selected over hundreds of law enforcement officers in Florida. He has dedicated his career to traffic enforcement by taking proactive measures to make our roadways safer. Castleberry also mentors new troopers and encourages them to make proactive enforcement a priority. In 2010, he issued more than 2,800 citations, 1,500 warnings and apprehended 18 impaired drivers. This year, Castleberry has volunteered to work the midnight shift so that he can focus his efforts on impaired driving enforcement.
