FHP Visits Pyramid, Inc.

Group PhotoRecently the FHP Academy’s 128th Basic Recruit Class was able to spend some time with a phenomenal group from Pyramid, Inc. in Tallahassee. Pyramid, Inc. is an organization specializing in assisting people who have developmental disabilities located throughout the state. The 128th BRC joined these special individuals and participated in some of their daily activities, including painting, playing hangman, playing bingo, music and even a little dancing. After spending time at Pyramid, the 128th BRC gave the students a little glimpse into their own day by marching in the parking lot, sounding off in loud cadence and doing a few pushups.

Some of the recruit class and academy staff returned the following weekend and volunteered their time to help set up Pyramid’s new facility. The 128th BRC was proud to take this opportunity to help out their community. The class helped assemble cabinets, moved supplies and furniture, painted walls, and helped organize and clean. The Pyramid staff was so kind and appreciative that they provided the hard working class with lunch as a way of saying “Thank you.” This was truly an amazing event that the 128th BRC will not soon forget.
