FHPA Trooper of the quarter
Troop H honored Lieutenant Barrie Glover, the recipient of the Florida Highway Patrol Auxiliary Trooper of the Quarter award, at the unit’s monthly meeting. Lt. Barrie Glover during his tenure as an FHPA member has developed the reputation of being one that can be counted on to work any type Patrol Activity/Detail to further FHP’s mission.
Lt. Barrie Glover since his FHPA appointment in September 1975 has always been a member one could count on; never one to draw attention to himself, but equally important has become one of the behind the scenes type individuals/unsung heroes that keeps the Troop moving in a positive direction.
Lt. Glover can be counted on to transport various FHP equipment, whether it’s to a DUI Checkpoint or anywhere in the State. Barrie has been known to travel to other States in assisting the Patrol by bringing back various equipment that will be used in furthering its mission. Barrie is a “jack of all trades” when it comes to working with various pieces of equipment whether it’s gasoline, diesel, towing equipment etc. Barrie on several occasions when a piece of equipment has failed in route or during a Patrol activity, instead of a supervisor calling for a tow service, “rolled up his sleeves”, determined/corrected the problem and the activity resumed with a successful outcome.
Lt. Glover is an all-around member that follows the premise of “whatever it takes”; he will step up and do what’s needed to accomplish the Patrol’s mission.
To sum it up, exceptional service to the Troop and Patrol.
