Troop G Participates in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure
Florida Highway Patrol Troop G personnel and friends recently participated in the 2011 Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure in Jacksonville, on Oct. 22, 2011. Lt. Maritza Gonzalez, Duty Officer Supervisor Jessi Palmer, Trooper Mike Elder, Trooper Jose Medina and Duty Officer Emily Morton all suited up in the cool weather to raise money for cancer research.
Susan G. Komen fought breast cancer with her heart, body and soul. Throughout her diagnosis, treatments and countless days in the hospital, she spent her time thinking of ways to make life better for other women battling breast cancer instead of fretting about her own situation. That concern for others continued even as Susan neared the end of her fight. Moved by Susan’s compassion for others and commitment to making a difference, Susan’s sister Nancy G. Brinker promised her she would do everything in her power to end breast cancer forever. That promise is now Susan G. Komen for the Cure. To learn more, visit http://ww5.komen.org/.
