Troop G Participates In Annual Shop with a Cop Event

Lt. Blom is just as thrilled as his little shopper as they wander through the aisles of Wal-Mart. Local troopers participated in this event during the holidays.During the seventh annual Shop with a Cop program, officers from the Starke Police Department, deputies from the Bradford County Sheriff’s Office, investigators from the State Fire Marshal’s Office, Florida Highway Patrol troopers and Florida Department of Corrections officers shopped with more than 150 elementary school students in Bradford County. The event took place at the Wal-Mart Supercenter in Starke. Donors provided each child $100 to spend on themselves. Some of the children shopped for themselves, but the most touching stories, were of the children who shopped for their siblings or their parents. One child took home a dozen roses for his mom. These kids truly took to heart the spirit of giving for Christmas. Thanks to all who volunteered and donated money to these children. As you can tell by the pictures, all of the troopers enjoyed the event.
