In Memory of Trooper Jean Barthelus
It is with deep regret that the Florida Highway Patrol announces the untimely tragic death of Trooper Jean Barthelus. Barthelus was shot and killed the evening of June 9 while in Port-au-Prince, Haiti.
Barthelus began his career with the FHP as a graduate of the 110th recruit class in Tallahassee on Dec. 6, 2004. He was assigned to Troop E in Miami, where he served his entire career. He is survived by his wife, daughter, mother, brothers and sister.
The Florida Highway Patrol family extends our deepest sympathies and condolences to Barthelus’ family.
The funeral arrangements honoring the memory of Trooper Barthelus are as follows:
The visitation will be held on Friday, June 22, 2012 at 7:00 P.M. through 10:30 P.M. at the Memorial Plan San Jose Funeral Home, located at 250 East 4th Ave., Hialeah, FL.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 23, 2012, beginning at 9:00 A.M. at the 93rd Street Community Baptist Church, 2330 NW 93rd Street, Miami, FL.
Interment will follow the funeral service at Southern Memorial Park Cemetery, 15000 West Dixie Highway, North Miami, FL.
