Southern Region Enforcement Event

Last December, the Florida Highway Patrol Southern Region Troops met in Broward County for an enforcement event that comprised over one hundred troopers throughout the county. The large scale enforcement event utilized aircraft operations along Interstate 75 and Alligator Alley, while simultaneously conducting a vehicle inspection checkpoint on Griffin Road and selective speed enforcement on Interstate 95.

After the detail, the troopers were welcomed by FLHSMV Executive Director Julie Jones and Colonel John Czernis at the Davie FHP station for lunch. During the afternoon lunch, Master Sergeant Wesley Daum was honored for twenty seven years of service as Sergeant with the Florida Highway Patrol along with several regional promotions.

Chief Miguel A. Guzman presented Colonel Czernis with a “Badge of Honor” plaque from the Southern Region for his dedicated leadership of the department during his tenure. All members were treated with a hearty lunch and fellowship as the day came to a close.

Special thanks to the Florida Highway Patrol Advisory members for their contributions.
