FHP Teams Up with Hillsborough County to Promote School Bus Safety
On April 6, 2011, Trooper Reggie Edwards, Occupant Protection Specialist for Troop C, in concert with the Hillsborough County School Board and Transportation Department, spent time with new school bus drivers to stress to them the importance of safe and proper driving habits.
Items discussed included distracted driving, drinking and driving, proper vehicle maintenance and the importance of using safety belts. The new drivers were enthusiastic about the opportunity to safely transport children to and from school and were more than receptive of the information that Edwards provided.
The safety talk was one more, very important, step toward helping children reach their destination safely and efficiently. For more information about school bus safety, visit our School Bus Safety page.
