Rollover Simulator Teaches Seatbelt Safety
On Jan. 14th, Trooper Lucy Papp partnered with “Safekids” and West Manatee Fire Rescue to teach the importance of wearing seatbelts to Orange Ridge Elementary students. Over 750 students from pre-k through fifth grade learned of the dangers of not being restrained.
All students were measured to see if they needed to be in a booster seat. It is recommended that everyone, regardless of age, under 4’9” tall utilize a booster seat. Each student that met the recommendation received a letter for his or her parents advising of the opportunity to obtain a booster seat for a small donation. The event was fun for as well as informative. All had a good time.
