Reckless Driver Apprehended when Stop Leads to Contraband
On August 7, Trooper Loren Slick made a traffic stop on a vehicle that had been reported for reckless driving and failure to drive within a single lane. During the course of the traffic stop the driver attempted to jump back into the vehicle and drive away. Trooper Slick stopped her and after a short struggle she was arrested.
Trooper Slick called for a female deputy to search the suspect, due to nervous movements she had displayed before attempting to flee. The search revealed 500 tablets of Oxycotin in the suspects shorts (estimated street value of $15,000).
The trooper charged the suspect with drug trafficking, resisting arrest without violence and possession of marijuana.
