FHP Races for the Cure

Runners group shotFor the past 3 years, Duty Officers Terri Murray and Lizz Van Buskirk along with several other duty officers have spearheaded a drive to raise money for breast cancer. They have worked tirelessly to organize people to join the Race for the Cure walk/run each October (breast cancer awareness month) as well as finding ingenious ways to raise money for donations to this most worthy cause.

Among the various methods for raising money was a 60’s bake sale and raffles for baskets filled with “goodies” which included office supplies, pet supplies, bath and body supplies, gift certificates for flowers, items for baking and cooking, handmade quilts and more. The baskets were festively adorned and wrapped with love. Last year the goal for donations was $1000, which was met. This year more than $1689 has been collected so far. The number of people (including survivors) from this troop that are participating in the Race for the Cure increases each year.
