FHP Employee Earns High Academic Honors

Damon and Fleet management co-workers.Damon Owens Jr. came to Tallahassee in August 2006 to attend Florida Agriculture and Mechanical University. While attending FAMU, Damon has been a valuable OPS member of FHP’s Fleet/Property Management Office.

Through much hard work and perseverance, Damon graduated from FAMU in May 2010, Magna Cum Laude with a 3.62 grade point average. Prior to graduation, Damon was honored by FAMU’s School of History and Political Science, with an outstanding academic achievement award presented by Dr. David Jackson, Chairperson for the School of Political Science.

Damon’s political science degree, with a focus in pre-law, should prepare him well for his future plans. His immediate goals involve enlisting in the U.S. Army where he will attend Officer Candidate School. Throughout Damon’s tenure at FAMU, he has been an active member of the Baptist Collegiate Ministry where they mentor and encourage fellow students in their spiritual and academic life. There is no doubt that Damon’s time at FAMU has ensured his success in achieving his future goals.

On behalf of the Fleet/Property Management Office and the entire Florida Highway Patrol, we wish Damon good fortune in pursuing his life goals!
