Troopers Help Deliver Toys for Tots
Tampa, Florida – in early December, the Florida Highway Patrol Troop C members began assisting Lance Corporal C. J. Wilson and the United States Marine Corps 4th Assault Amphibious Battalion in their annual Toys for Tots drive to help local families who might otherwise not have gifts for their children. Thanks to projects like Toys for Tots, children are provided toys that the Marines and other agencies collect from generous donors during the weeks leading up to Christmas.
First, troopers assisted the Marines by placing donation boxes in their field offices throughout the seven counties served by Troop C. Then, they assisted with the collections and escorted the Marines while they traveled the counties to pick up the toys from donation centers. After all the toys were collected, FHP helped the Marines prepare the toys for distribution to the children at various centers throughout the Tampa Bay area. Our troopers and our Marines were excited to be able to work together to provide some holiday cheer to children in need. Thank you for your Christmas spirit!
