Troopers Apprehend Wanted Felon
On June 10, the Ft. Myers Police contacted the Tallahassee Regional Communications Center to request assistance from FHP in attempting to apprehend a felony suspect wanted out of their jurisdiction. The suspect was wanted on various felony charges that included stalking and lewd and lascivious acts. Sgt. Darren Williamson was notified of the situation, established contact with Ft. Myers and received further information to give FHP units, which included a tag number, description, direction of travel and location of suspect’s vehicle.
Trooper Larry Wright spotted the suspect vehicle on Interstate 10 as it exited at Davis Highway. He followed the vehicle into a gas station located just off the interstate as other FHP units responded to the area. The suspect was identified, taken into custody without incident and transported to the Escambia County jail to await extradition back to Lee County. TRCC personnel Lisa Thompson, Jonathan Boles and Gail Colson were also instrumental in helping with the apprehension of this wanted felon. This cross state multi jurisdictional coordination helped remove a wanted felon from the highways of Florida. Everyone involved is to be congratulated for a job well done.
