Miami Troopers Talk Child Safety at Two Events

Trooper Harris explains importance of properly installed child seat.CPS tech installs child seatAt a recent event sponsored by Midway Ford in Miami, troopers reached out to the Spanish speaking community to spread the word about child passenger safety and the importance of properly using child seats and booster seats.

During this fun-filled event that attracted dozens of children, Trooper Charlie Harris spoke to parents and grandparents about the importance of using child restraints to keep the children safe in cars. Moving among the clowns, musical performers, and kids at play, troopers talked safety, stressing the importance of keeping children safe in and around cars. Troop E’s Occupant Protection Specialist Trooper Mary Jackson and her team of dedicated Child Passenger Safety Technicians have formed an alliance with the Miami Dade Family Learning Partnership. On February 12, the team hosted a special parenting class for expectant mothers and their support persons at Sunset Children and Family Services in Miami.
