The drill consisted of a shelter in place, lockdown and evacuation maneuvers. Students and faculty were on campus for the summer session. SCF Public Safety Personnel headed up by Chief Paul Porter held a training session for the faculty prior to the event to demonstrate proper procedures for any of the operational drill maneuvers including the complete evacuation of campus.

The drill included various agencies such as the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office, Sarasota County Fire and Emergency Services and North Port Police Department. The event was a huge success and all maneuvers were completed quickly and safely as we all hope they would in a real emergency.
