FHP Sergeant Honored at Annual Luncheon
In June of 2008, Sergeant Powell was working at an Off Duty Employment job when he observed two employees carrying a female co-worker in their arms. Sergeant Powell determined that the woman was unconscious and when she stopped breathing and he could not find a pulse, he reacted quickly and began CPR. After a few minutes, she began to breathe again and had a weak pulse.
Sergeant Powell remained with her until paramedics arrived and took over her care. Due to Sergeant Powell’s experience, training and quick reaction, the woman survived the potentially life threatening incident. It should be noted that this is not Sergeant’s Powell first time having to perform CPR when he was “off duty”.
Life as a Trooper is a 24-hour job where we are able to truly make a difference in the lives of the citizens we serve!
