FHP Participates in Fundraiser Event

Sheriff Loar and Chief GuzmanTrooper Conya Bassett demonstrates the rollover simulatorNewly elected Indian River County Sheriff Deryl Loar invited area law enforcement agencies to participate in the annual Florida Sheriff’s Youth Ranch Fundraiser Event. Florida Highway Patrol, Southern Regional Commander, Chief Miguel Guzman graciously accepted the offer and dispatched the Troop L’s Public Affairs Officer Lieutenant Tim Frith and Occupant Protection Specialist Trooper Conya Bassett along with Motorman Trooper David Rosko.

A variety of public safety displays were available, including the very popular rollover simulator demonstrated by Trooper Bassett. Young Tyler tries on Trooper Rosko’s bike for size.Trooper Rosko exhibited his FHP motorcycle which interested young Tyler Gardner, whose dad just happens to be Trooper Scott Gardner assigned to the Ft. Pierce district.

Chief Guzman congratulated the Sheriff on his recent election and expressed gratitude for Sheriff Loar’s outstanding years of service with the Florida Highway Patrol as District Commander of the Ft. Pierce District.
