Children of all ages were provided safety tips and school equipment to start the new year off with safety first and a flash of new fashion. Lieutenant Tim Frith and Trooper Archie McNair provided safety tips about proper pedestrian and bicycle travel while en route to and from school. The FHP rollover simulator was demonstrated during the event, with hopes that not only children, but parents will also use safety belts and child passenger seats.

The event was sponsored by the Knights of Pythagoras Mentoring Network that is a character-building, mentoring and gang prevention program in Palm Beach County. It provides kids with mentoring, academic tutoring and leadership training.

Troop L’s new Troop Commander, Major Luis Ramil has placed a high priority on decreasing the crash rate throughout Palm Beach County in which pedestrians are involved. “School zone safety must be enhanced for our children” Ramil said.
