FHP Joins Travel Expo to Promote Safety
The Florida Highway Patrol and The Boys and Girls Club of Broward County teamed up to promote safe driving for teen drivers at the NBC 6 / Telemundo 51 Travel Expo, a two-day event held at the Miami Beach Convention Center.
The event featured one of FHP’s popular Seat Belt Convincers, DUI goggles that simulate drunk driving, and a variety of safety information made available to teen drivers.

Over one hundred people rode the Convincer to learn what it feels like to be in a ten MPH crash. Over 300 individuals wore the DUI goggles to learn what it feels like to be under the influence and try to pass a sobriety test or perform tasks.
NBC 6 traffic Reporter Roxanne Vargas rode the seat belt convincer herself during the morning newscast and then spoke about the importance of wearing seat belts during an interview with meteorologist Jennifer Gray.
