Troop H Gets New Commander

Colonel Czernis presents promotional certificate to Major Ashley as his wife Lydia looks on.Major Timothy (Tim) J. Ashley has been promoted to the rank of Major and will serve as Troop Commander for Troop H – Tallahassee. Major Ashley has been a member of the Florida Highway Patrol since May 5, 1986. He began his career in Orlando after graduating from the 76th Recruit Class. He transferred to Ft. Lauderdale in 1989 and promoted to Sergeant in 1990, transferring to Miami. While assigned to Miami, Major Ashley promoted to both Lieutenant and Captain. After transferring to Tallahassee, he served as District Captain for the Quincy District from March 2003 to February 2008. Major Ashley is also a recent graduate of the Senior Leadership Program.

At the promotional ceremony held at GHQ in Tallahassee last week, Major Ashley was welcomed by dozens of FHP members, fellow troopers, family, and friends. Known for his friendliness and courtesy by many members, Major Ashley was praised for his integrity and professionalism by Colonel Czernis who has known Major Ashley for many years.
