Long-Time Jacksonville Duty Officer Retires

Robbie behind the radioDuty Officer Larry “Robbie” Robison, Jacksonville Regional Communications Center, retired after serving over 39 years with FHP. Larry was first hired July 15, 1969, as a Radio/Teletype Operator in Jacksonville, back when everything was manual and you had to type the radio transmissions on a log. As a matter of fact, they used tin cans with a string for communications! It wasn’t quite that bad, but nothing like the automation and computerized system we have today. Through it all, troopers say there was no one better to have on the radio during a stressful situation when things hit the fan. And that says it all about “Robbie.” We all wish him and his family well during his retirement years.
