FHPA Member Retires After 32 Years
Paul Evans retired after 32 years with the Florida Highway Patrol Auxiliary. Paul joined the Auxiliary in 1975, was promoted to a sergeant in 1985, lieutenant in 1989, and retired as a captain this year. Evans was always very active in all Auxiliary functions, including equipment checks, the St. Maurice Fair detail, and assisting troopers on and off the road. Paul would often ride with Auxiliary Trooper Larry Levy, and while on patrol especially enjoyed being able to direct traffic at a crash scene or assist disabled motorists. He would often assist with security checks at the drivers license office in Pembroke Pines, as well.
During his 32 years of Auxiliary service, Paul volunteered approximately 16,000 hours for the Florida Highway Patrol. Paul recently moved to Alabama to spend a well earned retirement near his family. We wish him the very best, and thank him for his years of service to the Florida Highway Patrol Auxiliary.
