FHP Promotes Safety at Health Fair
Recently, the South Florida Water Management District in West Palm Beach, Florida conducted its annual health and safety fair. Troop L’s Public Affairs Officer Lieutenant Tim Frith and Florida Highway Patrol Auxiliary Trooper Robert Pollack provided information on various agency traffic safety campaigns including; Move Over Florida; Move It ,Yes You Can; Ride Proud, Dress Loud; Child Passenger Safety; & Seat Belt Education, DUI, and Distracted Driving campaigns for teen drivers.
Trooper Pollack used one of FHP’s seat belt convincers to demonstrate the importance of wearing a seat belt while Lt. Frith addressed more than 300 employees to tell them about some of the agency’s priorities: removing impaired drivers from Florida’s roadways; getting motorists to register their Emergency Contact Information, watching out for motorcyclists, and using the Division of Drivers Licenses easy access online information service.
South Florida Water Management employee Mary Lou Gillett stated, “I have always had a deep respect for members of the FHP and the job they carry out each day, but I have personally gained a tremendous amount of information about the entire Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles today.”
