FHP Helps in Medical Emergency
FHP’s Sergeant E.J. Torres recently assisted the Miami-Dade Police Department when he flew one of their officers, Sergeant Tom Turpin, to Orlando to deliver a box containing cobra antivenin. The venom was for a resident who kept the cobra at his home. He was bitten on his thumb while feeding a mouse to the snake.
Mr. Hildreth was in critical condition at Orlando Regional Medical Center. The Miami-Dade Fire-Rescue’s Venom Response Team keeps an extensive supply of antivenin on hand.
