Auxiliary Honors Departing Member and New Captain

Captain Burroughs cuts into a cake served at a ceremony held to congratulate him on his promotion.Earlier this month, Captain Mike Burroughs was promoted and assigned to a new post in Troop H in Tallahassee. He will be greatly missed in Troop B. His smile and boundless enthusiasm will doubtlessly be much appreciated at his new post in the Capital City.

The nostalgic mood of Captain Burroughs’ departure was tempered by the addition of new members to the FHPA. Troopers Douglas Deeks, Kenneth Mize and Matias Perez, and Level 1 Troopers Bobby Earls and Winston Dampier were integrated into the unit earlier in 2008, and the occasion marked by a formal badge pinning ceremony. The group of new Auxiliary members brings varied backgrounds from K-9 special operations in the armed forces to specialties in nursing and finance.
