Troop C Shows Appreciation
When a local hotel welcomes the Florida Highway Patrol on short notice and a media personality retires after years of covering law enforcement events, Troop C shows them how much they are appreciated.
Pictured left, Major Tom Knight presents Marca Bonaventura and Tom Eaton with a Certification of Appreciation for their generous hospitality and right, Sergeant Mike Zwirn presents Robert Hinton with a Certificate of Appreciation for his positive media coverage.
Local Hotel Helps Out
During the manhunt for a cop killer who was on the loose after killing a Polk County Sheriff Deputy and his K-9 partner, the Florida Highway Patrol activated and dispatched over one hundred troopers to Lakeland to assist in the detail. As the sun began to set, a number of troopers and their K-9 partners had to stay the night somewhere. Thankfully, a local La Quinta hotel in Lakeland, allowed the troopers to stay there.
On behalf of the men and women of the Florida Highway Patrol, we sincerely thank Marca Bonaventura, General Manager Tom Easton, and La Quinta Hotels for their hospitality and genuine appreciation for the work our troopers do to help keep citizens safe everyday in Florida.
Media Personality Retires
Robert Hinton, known in the Tampa Bay media market as Pasco Bob or Hernando Bob (depending on which county he is filming in) recently retired after over thirteen years of providing excellent media coverage for local law enforcement stories for various television networks.
Sgt. Mike Zwirn, Corporal Scott Campbell, and Corporal Earl Frazier from the Land-O-Lakes and Brooksville Districts recently paid Bob a visit, thanking him for his positive coverage and spirit of cooperation and teamwork, and for his assistance in helping FHP share important traffic safety messages to help make our highways safer for Floridians and visitors to our state. Bob was presented with a Certificate of Appreciation signed by Colonel Chris Knight.
