FHP Participates in Safe Ride
Recently, the Florida Highway Patrol joined in an effort to promote education and awareness regarding safer driving. Eight individuals from various walks of life met at the entrance to the Florida State University in Tallahassee to begin a 12-day 1,200 mile bike ride across the Sunshine State. Representing the Florida Highway Patrol was Troop C Lieutenant Bruce Doras, pictured left and leading the pack (right).
The funds raised will be used by Florida-based S.A.F.E. (Stay Alive from Education) to bring the Street Smart program to high schools and colleges throughout the state. The presentation takes teens into the real-life drama experienced by emergency personnel as they work to save the lives of youths who have made poor choices and encourages them to make responsible decisions.
Keep up the good work Bikers!
