FHP Joins Miss America at MADD Vigil
Lakeland District personnel joined the reigning Miss America at a recent MADD candle light vigil in Polk County to honor and remember those who have died as a result of drunk drivers. The hundreds in attendance listened to the powerful message Miss America gave on how a drunk driver impacted her life and killed a close friend of hers.
The men and women of the Florida Highway Patrol will continue to vigilantly patrol Florida’s roadways to detect, stop and arrest as many drunk drivers as possible and prevent needless tragedies caused by drug and alcohol impairment. The FHP urges people to take responsibility for their actions before they even step into a vehicle.
