FHP Goes to Capitol to Honor Fallen Officers

Lieutenants Santangelo and Moore represent FHP at the event.President Bush speaks at the service.Recently, FHP members traveled to Washington, D.C. to participate in activities honoring law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty.

FHP representatives participated in several events, including the annual candlelight vigil, a tour of the Capitol, and the 26th Annual National Peace Officers Memorial Service. Trooper James E. Fitchett represented FHP well by riding his bicycle in the Police Unity Tour with over 1,000 other law enforcement officers, raising over 1.1 million dollars for the National Law Enforcement Memorial.

The American Association of State Troopers and the Florida Highway Patrol Command Officers Association sponsored a luncheon for the families of police officers killed in the line of duty last year.
