FHP Gets Traveling Kitchen

Lt. Jerry Crews, Tpr. Joel Johnson, Capt. Brent Coates – Troop G’s Cook TeamFlorida Highway Patrol troopers who respond to future disasters, such as hurricane details, will no longer have to search for a meal. The Florida Highway Patrol has a new disaster response kitchen that will be detailed to the area to provide meals.

Captain Brent Coates is the designated Command Chef and he and his crew will make sure that troopers are fed properly. The kitchen has stationary and portable grills, refrigerators, sinks, generators, propane gas and all the fixings to feed as many as necessary.

The kitchen was set up and used for the first time at Troop G’s recent troop meeting, feeding all in attendance including Colonel Chris Knight, Lt. Colonel Larry Austin and Lt. Colonel David Brierton.
