FHP Assists at Governor’s Inauguration

Governor Charlie Crist exiting the Old Capitol Building after being Inaugurated as Florida's 44th Governor.Members of the Florida Highway Patrol, under the direction of Colonel Christopher A. Knight, were privileged to participate in the Inauguration of Governor Charlie Crist on Tuesday, January 2, 2007. Approximately 87 troopers and supervisors from around the state were detailed to Tallahassee to provide security and transportation for dignitaries attending the Inauguration festivities.

Troopers also provided security for the Capitol building during the Inauguration, and at the Governor’s Mansion during an Open House to the public following the Inauguration. The Patrol’s 1940 Ford patrol car was also featured in the Inaugural Parade.
