Troop G began deploying the new HP laptops and HP 450bt color printers on Monday, January 30, 2006, in Jacksonville. Each trooper’s computer was completely setup including a complete list of email addresses for every member of Troop G. The new laptops feature touch screens and OFFICE 2003 that include Microsoft Word. The new printers allow troopers to print color photographs from DAVID and weekly reports from their vehicles. The new printers have two connections, a standard USB cable connection and a wireless Bluetooth connection that allows the laptop to be removed from the vehicle and print to the printer inside the vehicle. Troop G completed their laptop installations in Palatka on Wednesday, February 8, 2006. Captain Keith Gaston, Jacksonville Regional Communications Commander headed up the process.
