FHP Participates in Underage Drinking Town Hall Meeting

Student is checked for DUI in mock crash. Student is arrested by FHP in mock crash.The Florida Highway Patrol participated in an Underage Drinking Town Hall Meeting presented by the Duval County Public Schools System at the Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) in Jacksonville.

Lieutenant Bill Leeper spoke in the morning session to students, teachers, administrators, and others about the dangers of driving and the importance of not drinking & driving. Trooper Mike Daniels assisted in a “Mock DUI Crash” that was presented in the parking lot during the afternoon session in front of all the participants.

Emergency personnel arrive for injured victims.Other agencies that were on the agenda were Gateway Community Services, Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, Florida Division of Alcohol Beverages and Tobacco, Students Against Destructive Decisions, University of North Florida Campus Alcohol Drug Information Center, County Court Judge’s, Circuit Drug Court, State Attorney’s Office, and Mothers Against Drunk Driving.
