FHP Attends National Night Out
Recently, the Florida Highway Patrol Davie District participated in the City of Margate’s National Night Out, an event designed to educate residents on ways to better protect themselves from threats to their safety. The event also gave members of the community a chance to meet law enforcement officers in a more relaxed setting.

Public Affairs Officer Sergeant Mark Wysocky, Corporal Richard Nardiello, and Auxiliary Trooper Todd Coulter participated in the event. This was the fourth consecutive year that the Florida Highway Patrol has participated. Several other local, county, state and federal agencies were in attendance with riot vehicles, boats, helicopters, and crime scene vehicles.
The Florida Highway Patrol’s Light Armored Vehicle (LAV) and Mercury Marauder were two of the more popular vehicles at the event. Corporal Nardiello and Auxiliary Trooper Coulter talked with citizens as they lined up to see the LAV. Coloring books, crayons, pens, and pencils along with Move Over and scooter safety brochures were distributed to the public. The National Night Out event drew one of the largest crowds in the City of Margate.
