Troopers Find Pounds of Pot
A recent traffic stop on I-4 in Polk County ended in the arrest of a wanted drug offender and a significant seizure of drugs from Florida’s highways. Trooper Tim Free (left) stopped the driver of a late model Acura sedan for unlawful speed in a construction zone and ended up arresting him for driving without a license and for an outstanding warrant stemming from drug charges.
With the assistance of Trooper Brandon Eldridge (right), Trooper Free searched the vehicle, finding a small amount of marijuana scattered throughout the car’s interior. As the troopers continued the search, they located over five pounds of pot hidden in the trunk, along with a small amount of crack cocaine and $2,200 in cash.
Active speed enforcement and looking past the traffic stop lead to the arrest of a wanted fugitive and the removal of drugs from our highways. Good Job!
