Troopers Discover Counterfeit Goods

Counterfeit goods that were inside the vehicle.On July 1st, Trooper Brian Davis stopped a 2002 Ford Expedition pulling a cargo trailer traveling westbound on Interstate 10 for improper/unsafe equipment (no safety chains). During the traffic stop, Trooper Davis observed a small bag of marijuana in the center console area of the vehicle in plain view. A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed a large amount of counterfeit DVDs, CDs, and clothing in the towed trailer.

The counterfeit material had an estimated value of over $40,000. Both the driver and passenger in the vehicle were arrested and charged with driving with a suspended license, possession of marijuana under 20 grams, possession of and transportation of counterfeit merchandise, and racketeering. Trooper Rex Snow assisted Trooper Davis with the arrest.
