Reading can be fun!

As part of the Governor’s Just Read, Florida! program, the Corporals gave tours of their patrol cars, answered hundreds of questions, and provided safety education literature to the teachers and students.

The patrol cars were a big hit – but the highlight of the day came when Corporal Shields sat down with a 3rd grade class and read them a book entitled “The Acorn Club”. The story line entertained the children and taught them a number of valuable safety tips about surviving storms and other natural catastrophes – something Florida is very well aware of after last year’s Hurricane Season!
