FHP and FACC
The Florida Association of Community Corrections recently held their 11th annual training conference at the Saddlebrook Resort in Wesley Chapel, FL. On hand was Troop C Public Affairs Officer Trooper Larry Coggins (pictured left) who was a keynote speaker regarding criminal traffic. Since the majority of people who are currently on probation in Florida are there as a result of a traffic offense, it was only fitting that the FACC selected the FHP to instruct regarding this topic.
Trooper Coggins instructed the attendees from the various county and state agencies on the many different type of criminal traffic offenses ranging from reckless driving and DUI to felony fleeing , habitual traffic offenders, and ID theft. Many of the attendees who had supervised hundreds of probationers never knew what the exact terminology or mechanics of the offense that ends up under their control until now.
