Drug Seizure in Pensacola
On March 3rd, while working a Speed Enforcement Hireback Detail on Interstate 10 in Pensacola, Trooper Brian Davis stopped the driver of a Dodge pickup truck for unlawful speed. While issuing the driver a citation, Trooper Davis became suspicious of the driver’s activity and brought out K-9 Chaos to walk around the vehicle.
K-9 Chaos alerted to an odor of drugs about the vehicle. A subsequent search of the pickup truck revealed approximately 150 pounds of marijuana hidden in a toolbox in the bed of the truck and the passenger compartment.
The driver was immediately arrested and later charged with various narcotics violations. Trooper Davis’s efforts interrupted a smuggling operation using Florida highways to transport illegal narcotics into the state of Florida.
