CSO Injured on Duty
While investigating a vehicle crash on Interstate 75 in Hillsborough County, Tampa District Community Service Officer (CSO) James Gordon was getting into his patrol car when a vehicle crossed the center median, causing another vehicle to veer off of the interstate and strike CSO Gordon and his patrol car.
The at-fault vehicle continued traveling on I-75, leaving the scene where Gordon suffered numerous injuries. James Gordon was lucky. After being released from a local hospital, Gordon will recuperate at home before returning to work. The Patrol’s Chevrolet Impala was not so lucky – it was a total loss. All of us at FHP wish CSO James Gordon a speedy recovery!
