Auxiliary Hosts Evening of Appreciation
The Lakeland Auxiliary recently held a dinner to recognize and honor a number of people within the unit and troop who made contributions toward the FHPA’s success. Unit commander Captain Keith Batts presented Trooper Charles Austin with a plaque recognizing his 23 years of membership in the FHPA, and congratulated him on his retirement from the Auxiliary.
Troop C’s Public Affairs Officer and former Lakeland Unit Instructor, Trooper Larry Coggins, was recognized for his leadership and support to the unit from 1999–2004. Trooper Ken Umpenhour was recognized for having the highest patrol time in the Lakeland Unit in 2004, patrolling over 528 hours in Polk County.
A plaque was awarded to Troop C’s Training Coordinator Lt. Keely Weaver for her continued dedication and support of the FHPA. The FHPA also recognized the Lakeland District Supervisors for their continued involvement and assistance. Also, the City of Plant City publicly recognized Trooper Ray Wells for representing the FHPA and for his involvement in the annual Christmas Parade each year.
