Appreciation from Troop Commander

Major Miguel Guzman and Captain Luis Ramil.Recently the Troop L – Lantana district met for a cookout with all the trimmings. The Troop Commander, Major Miguel A. Guzman, took the time to give a special thank you to all members for their hard work during the past year. Major Guzman recalled how important it was for the communities of Palm Beach and the Treasure Coast that the Florida Highway Patrol was there to protect and serve during the time that two major hurricanes devastated this area.

Lieutenant Richard Vore received the Trooper of the Month award for his courageous actions during both hurricanes, but as Major Guzman stated “it was the dedication from every member that made a difference during these tragic storms”.

During 2004, traffic fatalities in Palm Beach County have been considerably down from the past three years. Major Guzman contributed the decrease in fatalities to the enforcement efforts made by everyone during Operation Safe Ride and the focus to stop aggressive driving.

As in years past, the Troop L office staff members and Florida Highway Patrol Auxiliary members were acknowledged for their hard work and dedication because without the teamwork between everyone, nothing would be possible. Major Guzman closed by reminding everyone that what really matters is family, friends and faith.
